On May 19, 1996, James Baker was born in Memphis, Tennessee. The name was given to him by his father, who is serving a 25-year sentence for rape. When Baker was 12 years old in 2008, his father visited him briefly at his home after being released from prison.
At the age of 14, Baker joined the Grape Street Watts Crips. Despite having its headquarters in Los Angeles, the gang has a Memphis branch that goes by the name of “Peda Roll Mafia.”
