He is taking a break from being an anchor, but he will still be working. He stated in his post that he had taken a new job in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

As the chief public information officer for The Department of Public Works of Baltimore County, Melser has taken a new position and begun a new career. He also indicated that this position would utilize his meteorology skills.

Melser performed his final weathercast for WBAL-TV on January 15 with his family and coworkers present.

He won’t be an anchor or a reporter on television, but he’ll still be accessible to the public thanks to his social media accounts.

Although many members of the audience are okay with his starting a new career, many still wish to see him at WBAL.

Many people are sad to see him leave WBAL since they appreciated his storytelling style and his enthusiasm at work.
