Florida Woman Named Brittany Holbrook Murder Case

Florida Woman Named Brittany Holbrook Murder Case: A woman from Florida has been charged with the shooting death of her boyfriend in the early hours of Saturday morning, while claiming it was an act of self-defense.

Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to a residence on Big Coppitt Key shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday, following a distress call from the couple’s roommate. The roommate informed the authorities that Tyler Nulisch, aged 30, was in critical condition, severely injured and bleeding profusely, as stated in an arrest affidavit obtained by Keys Weekly.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered Nulisch lying on the living room floor with a gunshot wound in his lower back. They also observed a 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun and a spent shell casing on the floor.

Although Nulisch was unconscious, he was still breathing when law enforcement arrived. He was promptly transported to Lower Keys Medical Center but tragically succumbed to his injuries approximately an hour later.

During the investigation, the roommate informed detectives that he, Nulisch, and Nulisch’s girlfriend, Brittany Holbrook, aged 33, had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening and had all retired to bed. The roommate recounted being awakened by a scream, prompting him to rush to the living room, where he discovered Nulisch lying on the floor, bleeding. When questioned about the incident, Nulisch allegedly accused Holbrook, stating, “The b**** shot me in the back!”

Holbrook provided a statement to investigators, claiming to have a gap in her memory. She recalled going to bed but could not recollect any details until finding herself in the living room, cradling her blood-covered boyfriend. In a subsequent interview, Holbrook asserted that she remembered Nulisch attacking her, pinning her against the wall, and choking her. However, the police found no visible signs of strangulation.

The affidavit mentioned that Holbrook admitted to punching and scratching Nulisch, evident from the bruising observed on several knuckles of her right hand. She contended that she believed Nulisch was attempting to kill her. Holbrook continued to assert the existence of a memory gap and could not recall how she managed to escape from Nulisch. Additionally, she claimed that she had not discharged a firearm since moving from Stuart, Florida, more than nine months ago.
