The Sheriff’s Office received reports of the shooting around 8:25 p.m. at the campgrounds near the town of George. As he made his escape, the shooter discharged his weapon indiscriminately into the crowd, according to Kyle Foreman, the spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office.

No specific information has been provided regarding the suspect, victims, the type of weapon used, or the motive behind the attack.

Despite the shooting, the Beyond Wonderland festival continued on Saturday night. However, organizers released a statement urging attendees to avoid a specific area of the campgrounds.

The festival tweeted, “Please avoid the Gorge Gate H campgrounds area as it is closed due to an incident that has been handled by local authorities. There is no current danger to festival goers or the campgrounds.”

On Sunday morning, the festival made the decision to cancel the day’s performances in light of the previous night’s incident.
