Vietnam Veteran Allegedly Shot Wife To Death: A 75-year-old Vietnam veteran, who is suffering from PTSD, asserts that he was unaware of his actions when he purportedly fatally shot his wife during the late hours of the night.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, Charles Bradley, in distress, dialed 911 and reported discovering his deceased wife inside their residence on the morning of May 1, expressing uncertainty about whether he might be responsible for her demise.
“The male caller now states that he discovered his wife lying in the hallway. He last saw her when they retired for the night. He possesses a firearm, stored in the nightstand, and is attempting to initiate CPR,” conveys the 911 dispatcher in the recorded video. “The caller now affirms that he is certain his wife was shot.”
Footage exhibits officers approaching Bradley’s residence and knocking on the front door. The tearful husband is subsequently taken into custody.
“Exit the premises with your hands visible, continue approaching. Do you possess a weapon? Step outside. Proceed all the way out. Apart from your wife, is anyone else inside? No. I will ask you to stand aside with these other officers,” an officer communicates to Bradley in the video.
Subsequently, the officers enter the dwelling and verify the lifelessness of Sandra Bradley, ascertaining that she sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
‘I Was Having Dreams About An Attack’
Following the recitation of Bradley’s Miranda Rights and subsequent arrest by the police, the Vietnam veteran commenced recounting a series of differing narratives to the officers, explaining what transpired. Bradley informed the officers that he was roused from sleep by the alarm emanating from his wife’s cellular device while he was immersed in a dream.
“I was experiencing dreams of an assault,” Bradley conveyed to the officers.
“Tonight. Indeed? What unfolded in the dream?” queried the police during this interaction.
“Whenever they drop them over there, it’s excessively near. I didn’t take any action,” Bradley asserted to the authorities. “Then, her alarm began sounding a few minutes later. I arose from the bed… but couldn’t locate her phone.”
‘Blood All Over The Floor’
The elderly gentleman proceeds to recount the subsequent events. “There was blood scattered across the floor, and I noticed what appeared to be a projectile lying beside her. I cautiously stepped over her to silence the ringing of her phone, but she remained motionless. She did not respond to any of my attempts to communicate with her,” Bradley disclosed to the officers in the recorded video.
He further added, “I am reluctant to suggest that the dreams I had are connected to what transpired because I was sound asleep in bed when her alarm activated.”
Following the arrest, law enforcement took Bradley into custody and formally charged him with the murder of his wife. Despite the charges, he pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and was subsequently released upon posting a bail amount of $70,000 out of his $1 million bond. As he awaits his upcoming court hearing next month, Bradley is required to adhere to a curfew and wear a tracking device.
