Ole Miss senior quarterback Chad Kelly, who tore his ACL and lateral meniscus against Georgia Southern on Saturday, will have season-ending surgery this week.
After sustaining an ACL injury last season, Kelly needed to undergo rehabilitation to be ready for the pro day. Rapoport said that he had received clearance for a script of 35 to 45 pro-day throws the week prior.
Jason Pellerin, a freshman, took Kelly’s place on Saturday and completed one of five throws for 19 yards.
Paulling predicts that Kelly won’t be out for too long and will be able to participate in the team’s opening game against Florida State on September 5 despite missing the remaining spring practices.

The Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League have signed former Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly, the team announced on Friday.
Kelly was selected by the Denver Broncos in the 2017 NFL Draft and had a brief NFL career. Prior to joining the Indianapolis Colts for the 2019–2020 season, he spent two seasons in Denver.
The quarterback spent two years at Ole Miss as well, but his 2015 campaign, during which he assisted the Rebels in winning the Allstate Sugar Bowl, is what made him most famous.
Kelly ran for more than 500 yards and passed for over 4,000 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2015. Additionally, he became the first quarterback from Ole Miss to defeat Alabama, LSU, and Auburn all in the same season.

Around 3:15 a.m., Kelly, 20, of Niagara Falls, is accused of punching a bouncer after allegedly refusing to leave Encore at 492 Pearl St.
According to Police, Kelly’s friend Brandon Hickey, 21, of Clarence, had previously been expelled from the pub and made an effort to reenter.
Kelly reportedly said, “I’m going to go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place,” as he engaged in a struggle with two bouncers.
