Early in Season 2, we learned that Tom, Cynthia’s husband, was in danger of passing away and was essentially in a coma.
The uncertainty of her son’s future and the misery of having to live with him while he was in that incomprehensible state caused Cynthia and her son enormous suffering.
He was lying in a bed in Cynthia’s living room with life support equipment attached to him at the same time.

The second season of Ginny & Georgia begins with the discovery that Cynthia’s husband Tom is unwell and unconscious. His condition’s nature is still unknown, though.
What ailment, then, does Tom have in Georgia and Ginny? There is still no response.
The likelihood that Tom will recover from his illness or awaken has also been predicted by doctors. Because of this, Cynthia is depressed for a good chunk of Ginny & Georgia season 2’s episodes. So it seems odd that Cynthia and Georgia should end up becoming friends in the midst of all of this.
But soon long, Tom is entangled in Georgia’s story, one of the show’s most unsettling ones.
In Ginny & Georgia season 2, Georgia and Cynthia begin to open up to each other over drinks, even if they don’t wind up being close friends.
In episode 9, Cynthia tells Georgia that she and her son have suffered since Tom went into a coma and that it will be harder for them both to move on the longer he survives.
To end the call, Cynthia sobs, “I just want it to be finished.” Georgia, being Georgia, has the violent need to step in and kill Tom.
When Cynthia walks upstairs to hunt for her son, Georgia approaches Tom and vows to watch over her and be there for her.
Then, while sobbing, she smothers Tom with a pillow. After that, Georgia screams to Cynthia that she believes Tom’s time has come.
Georgia didn’t know, though, that Austin had been spying on her murder of Tom from a cupboard in Tom’s room. Austin is kept in the dark about Georgia’s secret, but only for a little period of time.
In the season finale, Paul and Georgia’s wedding day is cut short. Georgia is taken into custody for the murder of Tom Fuller as private investigator Gabriel Cordova barges in with the police.
Georgia is even more perplexed when Austin says he never told anyone, as Austin maintains. The season ends without saying how the Police found out what Georgia did to Tom.
Why Did Georgia Kill Tom?
As was mentioned in our finale review, Gabriel and the Police interrupt Georgia and Paul’s first dance to take her into custody for murder.
Georgia had a criminal past, but that evening Gabriel and the Police made the connection between her and Tom Fuller’s passing.
One evening, while talking with Georgia in her kitchen, Cynthia remarked she wished her husband’s (and her family’s) suffering would end.
Georgia likely smothered Tom with a pillow as she entered the living room, peered down at his body, and Cynthia walked upstairs to check on the boys.
Tom’s machines started beeping loudly as Georgia raged at Cynthia and warned her that he would die when his life left him.
To Cynthia, the transition seemed natural. Austin, on the other hand, was hiding in the room during the murder and saw everything.
