Nova Southeastern extended a coaching position to Mazzulla when he completed his undergraduate studies. He declined because he wanted to put his career first. Since he was unable to secure a solid position abroad, he joined Glenville State as an assistant in September 2011.
Mazzulla was hired by Jerrod Calhoun in 2013 to work as an assistant at Fairmont State. He served as the Maine Red Claws’ assistant coach for the 2016–17 NBA G League season. In March 2017, Mazzulla was appointed head coach at Fairmont State.
