Nearly one in the morning yesterday, the bodies of Emma Pattison, 45, her husband George, 39, and their seven-year-old daughter Lettie were found in their apartment. According to Surrey Police, the incident was a “isolated incidence” in which no other parties were present. Their deaths have been reported to the coroner.

Emma Pattison was appointed the first female head of the renowned Epsom College, one of the top boarding institutions in the UK, on January 1, 2023.
Emergency services were called to Epsom College early on Sunday morning where they found the bodies of headmistress Emma Pattison, her husband, and their seven-year-old daughter.
The deaths, according to the Metropolitan Police, are an isolated incident with no outside parties involved. The local ambulance service called them to the school, which is located in Surrey.
Det Ch Insp Kimball Edey stated, “I first want to express my sympathy to the friends and family of Emma, Lettie, and George, as well as the students and staff of Epsom College, for their terrible loss. I speak for the Surrey Police, my fellow employees, and myself.
“I’d want to convey my confidence that we will look into what happened in great detail… and hope to be able to bring comfort in these painful circumstances. I would ask that their privacy be maintained at this difficult time.
Ms. Pattison served as the head of Croydon High School in south London for six years before being named the school’s first female principal five months ago.
Her husband George was a chartered accountant and the director of Tanglewood’s management consulting firm in 2016, per Companies House.

Ms. Pattison, 45, was chosen as the school’s first female administrator in September of last year. She had previously worked for six years as Croydon High School’s principal.
The Pattisons lived on the Epsom College grounds with their daughter Lettie, 7, and husband George, a professional accountant.
Epsom College was a school Ms. Pattison has “always admired, with an amazing reputation, and George and I can’t wait to meet the kids, parents, and staff and to become part of this lovely community,” she said at the time of her employment.
Ms. Pattison’s vision for the school “energized the Governors,” according to Dr. Alastair Wells, chairman of the board of governors, and left an impression on the students.
She started her teaching career in 2002 at Lutterworth College, where she taught French and Spanish.
In 2013, she was appointed deputy head at St. John’s School, and three years later, she was chosen Croydon High School’s head.
Ms. Pattison said she attended a girls’ school as a child and was “a brilliant pianist” in a previous interview with Connaught Education.
