The loss of Jamin Pugh, better known by his ring name Jay Briscoe, is lamented by the professional wrestling world. The wrestler, who had been under contract with ROH (Ring of Honor) since 2022, passed away at the age of 38.

The statement was made on Wednesday afternoon by Tony Khan, the former owner of Ring of Honor and the creator of AEW.

Sadly, Jamin Pugh passed away. “Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a ROH star for almost 20 years, from the first event to the present,” Khan said.

Briscoe wasn’t well-known among WWE fans, but thanks to his fights with FTR this year, he was well-known on the independent circuit and among AEW fans.

American professional wrestler Mark Pugh, best known by his ring name Mark Briscoe, was born. He currently has a deal with Ring of Honor.

With his brother Jay Briscoe, he and the ROH World Tag Team Championship 13 times. He was formerly the leader of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team.
