Hong Kong Model Abby Choi Funeral: Hundreds of mourners gathered on Sunday to attend the funeral of a Hong Kong model whose shocking death earlier this year sent shockwaves through the city. Floral tributes poured in from loved ones, friends, and even celebrities.
The deceased, Abby Choi, was a 28-year-old mother of four who had disappeared in late February. Eventually, the police discovered parts of her dismembered body in a rural village house.
As a prominent model and influencer, Choi had garnered significant attention both internationally, having made appearances at fashion shows, and on social media platforms such as Instagram and Douyin (China’s version of TikTok). News of her tragic demise made headlines around the world.
Finally, after four months since her passing, friends and loved ones had the opportunity to bid farewell to Choi at a funeral service. The venue was adorned in her favorite color, pink.
Hundreds of people dressed in black formed a line outside the Po Fook Memorial Hall, located in a tranquil suburb of Hong Kong, just a short distance from where her remains were discovered. The entrance of the hall was embellished with pink curtains and two images of Choi, captured in a pink dress against a backdrop of balloons in various shades of the same color.
Among the attendees was her late husband, Chris Tam, whose family established a popular noodle chain in the city. Clad in a suit and accompanied by one of their children, Tam arrived at the funeral parlor an hour before the Buddhist ceremony commenced, bidding a final farewell to his wife.

Workers were seen carrying floral tributes from various celebrities into the funeral home as part of the mourning ceremony. Among the notable figures was Aaron Kwok, a veteran of Hong Kong’s pop music scene from the 1990s.
On Monday, Choi’s body was cremated. A black hearse adorned with pink flowers transported her remains to a renowned monastery located on a nearby island.
Choi’s ex-husband, Alex Kwong (28), his brother Anthony (31), and their father, Kwong Kau (65), have been charged with murder in connection with her death. Additionally, Alex Kwong’s mother, Jenny Li (63), faces charges of perverting the course of justice.
The family members were denied bail and are currently held in custody, awaiting their next hearing scheduled for July 31.
Two other individuals have been charged with assisting the ex-husband’s escape attempts. However, they have been released on bail.
