In The Past Ten Years, Post Malone Has Released Songs

When Post Malone was a youngster in high school, he initially began making songs. Before releasing his first single “White Iverson” in 2015, he carried on as an independent artist. The next year, Stoney, his debut album, was released.

Congratulations and Rockstar were among the top tracks on Malone’s platinum-selling album Beerbongs & Bentleys, which was released in 2018. The following year, he released his follow-up album, Hollywood’s Bleeding.

Post Malone Writes His Songs On The Toilet

On The Howard Stern Show in 2022, Malone discussed the process of writing songs.

He said that because he writes all of his songs on a can, “shit actually comes to me.” He added that he sometimes spends hours at a time in the bathroom and finds that writing on the toilet “very much so” soothes him.

In his own words, “I’d estimate roughly 30% of all my albums have been written on the s***ter.” “And I’d estimate that 60 percent of lyrics were penned on the s***ter.”

Malone’s behaviors alarmed Stern, who also cautioned him about the potential for hemorrhoids. He questioned, “Are you pressing the entire time?” Because, and I’m not joking, “you actually may develop hemorrhoids.”

Malone stated that the bathroom was his happy spot and didn’t appear to be concerned. It’s my designated zone. Because while you’re taking a s***, nobody wants to talk to you, he remarked. It’s more of an oasis than a hideout, in my opinion.

Rappers Like Eminem Were Inspired By The Toilet

Rappers other than Post Malone have drawn inspiration while perched on the porcelain throne. Eminem, the best-selling rapper, created his eponymous Slim Shady persona while using the restroom.

In a 1999 interview with Rolling Stone on his ascent to fame and his approach to music, Eminem reflected on the beginning of Slim Shady. His Slim Shady persona was inspired by a sad situation, yet it helped him grow his rap career.

Em excitedly said, “Boom, the name hit me, and immediately away I thought of all these terms that rhyme with it.” “So I got up off the pot, wiped my a**, and went and phoned everyone I knew.”

Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran are some musicians who have cited the restroom as a source of creativity.
