Who Was Lee Smith?
For for 15 years, Coach Smith has been involved in the Louisville soccer community, holding a variety of coaching positions at the YMCA, Mockingbird Sports Complex, and the LSA (Louisville Soccer Alliance).
Both the 2004 Boys Gold Team and Desales High School were coached by him. Lee was regarded as a kind person who always placed others before himself. For the players and teammates he had the honor of mentoring, he was a fantastic leader and role model. For more than ten years, Lee has been a member of the KFJ/Mockingbird family.
When asked why pupils should be forced to attend DeSales, Coach Smith responded, “It’s a tremendous atmosphere affording many wonderful opportunity both athletic and intellectual. As students, athletes, and participants in a program that encourages them to give their all on the field, I believe they will be challenged to reach their full potential.
In my opinion, anyone who is ready to put in the necessary effort and take advantage of what DeSales has to offer may have the same experience as my two kids, who both attended the school and excelled in both the classroom and on the soccer field.
